Last month I entered the Doodle-4-Google contest. Each year they hold a contest and kids can submit a drawing that represents the company logo and theme. The theme for 2011 is "Someday I'd like to..." Here is what I came up with.
My Artist Statement:
Someday I'd like to take all of the trash from our beaches and turn it into art. I hope that this will raise awareness to the problem on our beaches and the threat to the ocean the animals & fish that live there.
Although our beaches are pretty clean compared to others, I typically find plastic bottle caps, water bottles, deflated balloons and ribbon along the shore. So, that was my inspiration for this doodle.
The contest finalist will be announced on May 4th.
